Allow me to reintroduce myself....

My name is Crystal.... I have a lot of new followers, and I thought a quick introduction was in order. Don't worry... none of my posts are much longer than a 3-4 min read intentionally, and I try to have content that isn't boring, though I don't live a glamorous life, I do live a passionate one.

So lets start with my name....

I chose not to paint by my real name for a reason that might seem silly to a lot of people. I hate my name. I always kinda have lol I once asked my mother when I was really young, who I was named after and she said I was named after a song. An elton John song on the "Too low for Zero" album. (Look it up lol its on there). I have to admit I wasnt a fan and have gone by "Crys/ ("Chris") my whole life. During a greek mythology segment my sons and I were doing (I homeschool my boys) we discovered a minor goddess by the name of Circe. Shes the daughter of the sun god Helios and an ocean nymph Perse. Circe was known for incredible knowledge of herbs and potions (my kids joked about our similarities, from the knowledge of herbs and potions , down to the parents lol) And so.... the front name was born.

I have 2 nearly adult sons. One is 20 and the other is 18 and on his senior year in high school with me. They are literally the lights of my life and if you're new here, I must stress to you how much those children saved my life and helped me break generational trauma that had passed along for decades. (I write a lot on that) They are the reason I fight so hard against toxic parenting samples. Loving them, taught me that I was never as hard to love as my parents made it seem.

Im married to my high school sweetheart and have recently celebrated 20 years with him. A milestone we were told we would never meet being 19 and pregnant. I guess the jokes on all of them now huh? (I included our wedding photo....my honey is gunna kill me LOL)

Even after 20 years its still like were only 19 and I find myself so blessed every day that I have such an incredible man looking after me despite what life has given us. That man gives me damn near anything I want (within reason) and calls me beautiful daily like he knows no other name for me. Hes a rare one if there ever was one. Men like him are only made once in every lifetime and this one is mine <3

I am disabled and use art as a way to feel like Im contributing to my household in some way lol I have RRMS, or Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis. I stepped out of the corporate world permanently in march of this year due to the relapses affecting more of my motor skills than before, especially my ability to walk. I use a cane when I go out if I need it and I use it at home for balance but I have been blessed as my symptoms are not as bad as they could be yet. Im staying sober from alcohol to help my body come out of the relapse faster and am 75 days in :)

I LOVE to cook and bake for my family and have been building a recipe book I hope to pass on after my number gets called in this world. That way a piece of me will always be with my kids no matter how long Ive been gone. I firmly believe that food is love and cooking for people is a love language.

We have pets but nothing fancy, We have our pup Karma and the cat Bella, of course..... we also have a chicken named Natasha, 2 parakeets and a tarantula named Wednesday (I told you he gives me whatever I want lol)

We moved to Blaine Wa 12 years ago and have been here ever since :) One day soon we hope to have our own home ;)

Life updates aren't much for anyone who's been following. I'm battling some electrical nerve pain so its been hard to stay motivated on reels and content creating....

I have taken to posting updates about current pieces in progress on my Facebook "Artby Circe".

Newest update I haven't posted yet but Ill give a little gem here..... I got to donate a couple of my pieces to my honeys United Way Auction at work!!!! I legitimately wasn't sure how they would be received but he said that a lot of people really liked them so I'm hopeful I can poach at least one new collector from it haha.

I have a ton of family recipes and I promise to post the ingredients first lol , plant hacks (I LOVE plants!! I have 36 now lol....again... my man spoils me lol) and a lot of opinions on toxic parenting and how to avoid it or even correct it before its to late.

I hope you follow along but I wont hold it against you if you dont. I love you for taking the time to read this far and give a no name, no body artist 4 mins of your day.
