Here's my recipe for scratch-made southern biscuits.

Kitchen Tested. Adult kid approved. Husband requested.

Bake at 450

10-15 mins

Grab a mixing bowl

Add 2 cups flour, 3 tsps. baking powder, 1 tsp salt

Mix it together

Add 1/3 cup of butter flavored Crisco or butter,

Cut in with pastry cutter.

After its all cut in add; 1 cup milk (doesn't matter percentage)

Mix together until sticky dough forms.

Lightly flour a counter top

Roll your dough out and fold to create layers. Do that as many times as you want.

When you're ready, roll out your dough to about 1/2 inch thick.

Cut out biscuits with whatever cutter you use.

**NOTE: Do not twist your cutter when cutting the biscuits! If you twist the cutter it will seal the edges of your biscuits and you wont get the classic biscuit look, instead you'll have hockey pucks lol

Baste in butter and place in the oven!

I use a cast iron pan and parchment paper and it works great for me. These area a staple in my house and are often made every morning and served with butter and jam <3

All my love, and biscuits!
